Textual Undertones

Sometimes when people write things, they don’t read like they should. Something feels completely off about the text. I have zero idea why I feel that way when I read certain things and I don’t even think it’s necessarily strictly an AI writing thing.

I believe there’s something to the idea of intentionality in expression. A person can just tell when your heart’s not in the words you’ve written. I strive to be honest in my writing, yet I feel most times, I fail. I’m too exacting or not exacting enough. I carve up perfectly good sentences into fragmented Frankensteins and let split ends form on long-stranded sentences that maybe should’ve been shorn six months ago.

Anyway, the real point of this post goes back to the idea of “feeling” when someone’s writing or correspondence is genuine. With the way some people interact with you, you can just tell. I’ve learned to listen to my gut on this matter because usually when you feel something so compelling stir you in that way, you learn the consequences of ignoring it pretty fast.

Did you really mean that? I didn’t feel it.
